On this page, you will get a small insight into my family and our experience with brain cancer.
I truly hope our story not only encourages you to raise awareness about brain cancer but inspires you to pursue areas you might be passionate about - whatever that may be.
Alex Choi was the best dad, my superhero in a way. He was the kindest, most caring person I have ever known. A wonderful husband and father.
In 2020, I lost my dad to brain cancer. He was diagnosed with glioblastoma (grade IV astrocytoma) at the beginning of January 2020 and passed away in May. Our family of five turned into a family of four.
At the ages of 12, 11, and 9, the impact on me and my sisters was devastating.
For my parents, who had been together for over 20 years, this was unfathomable.
The journey of navigating the path forward was extremely difficult.
Brain cancer is one of the most aggressive types of cancer and is fatal. After receiving multiple MRIs and a brain biopsy my dad was given 4 months to live with radiation therapy and chemotherapy, both incredibly painful.
Losing a loved one is always difficult. Brain cancer, because of its aggressive nature, kills cells of the brain. Glioblastoma affected my dad's personality, physical abilities and cognitive abilities.
Through navigating as a family, faith was truly our cornerstone. I thank God for every beautiful memory and I cherish the moments I spend with the people I love. The time we have on Earth is so limited, and I hope that you can enjoy every small moment. They make all the difference. ❤
Every contribution brings us closer to preventing another family from experiencing a story similar to ours. Your donation makes a meaningful impact on our mission to create positive change and improve outcomes for those affected by the challenges we've faced.
