Brain cancer is a terminal disease. Abnormal growth of cells in the brain forms tumors that disrupt normal brain function. The effects vary but may include cognitive impairment, emotional changes, and neurological deficits, impacting overall well-being. With no cure, treatment may involve surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, aiming to manage symptoms and enhance the quality of life.
Brain cancer in Canada is underfunded due to factors such as it being relatively uncommon compared to other cancers, resulting in less public awareness and monetary support. Additionally, the intricate nature of brain tumors poses unique challenges, making research more complex and expensive.
In May 2020 my dad passed away from brain cancer.
Alex Choi was an amazing father and husband.
He was caring, kind, thoughtful, and loving.
We are so sad that he was taken from us so early in his life.
This campaign is dedicated to the dream that another family will not have the same story we do.
